Have you ever been to Amsterdam? If not, I would highly recommend you to do so. Since this year, we are all able to travel again. For me especially, I am really glad that I am able to travel again. Traveling for me feels like a necessity in order to stay mentally sane. I recently came back from a trip to Amsterdam. I’ve never been there before. I was always planning on going there with a friend from college. However, last week, I was there as a tourist willing to experience some Dutch culture. I can’t say that I’m disappointed. Amsterdam is a very warm, inviting, open place, where people feel really free to be themselves. This is not forced or thrown at you by all its residents. Actually, you can just sense it by being there. Everybody is very open and relaxed. If you were to ask me on the one thing to do in Amsterdam, I would say that you should visit the Moco Museum. If you really want to experience what it is being Dutch, you should go to the Moco Museum
What is the Moco Museum
Maybe you’ve already heard about the Rijksmuseum or about the NEMO science centre, however I doubt that you’ve heard about the Moco Museum. To me, this feels like a typical Amsterdam Museum. The Moco Museum is an amazing combination of contemporary and modern art. The museum is located very close to the centre of Amsterdam, just passed the famous Rijksmuseum. If you want the full Dutch experience, you can go there by bike from the central station. You will have an amazing ride alongside the canals and through the streets of Amsterdam. The Dutch go almost everywhere by bike, so if you want the true Dutch experience, cycle to the Moco Museum by bike as well.
A really great museum
Even me, and I am pretty biased against museums, thought that the Moco Museum was really great example of what a museum can be. They show some really great works of art here. Furthermore, you are also able to really experience art at their exhibitions. Everything here feels very free, warm and inviting. Nothing is odd at the Moco Museum. In a sense, it is therefore very much like Amsterdam itself. Maybe that is why I liked it so much, because Amsterdam as a whole is an amazing city and well worth visiting should you ever need some travel-inspiration.
